Dear Jesus Rep,
Trust you are doing great and you had a restful weekend?
As a parent/guardian do you recall instances when your child/ward did something you thought was outstanding and you let out the golden lines, “I’m proud of you.” Do you remember the smiles, giggles, hugs that followed? It’s always an ‘aha’ moment for the child/ward and they know most often, a gift or treat might follow. It doesn’t stop there, when they know engaging that particular activity makes their parent/guardian proud, they strive to keep at it.
Being a child of God, how often do you seek to make Jesus proud? Do your actions, thoughts, deeds make Him proud? Do you assume He’s smiling at you and throwing His loving arms around you in embrace? Have you offered every part of your life to Him in righteousness, as prescribed in Romans 6:13.
In your relationship with God, how about you maintain the stance of your child/ward that seeks to constantly make you happy, just like Jesus prescribes in Matthew 18:3, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
As you go on in this new week, desire to make Jesus proud, and the required grace would follow; Amen!
