Hello Amazing One,
Happy Easter Celebration to you and yours. Praying you have a personal experience with the resurrected Christ in this season. On today’s meditation, our guest contributor speaks to a topic most dear to the heart of God; our core obligation as believers. Please come along.
God has commanded us to evangelize. People need to hear about Jesus to know about and believe in Him. We are God’s mouthpiece for spreading the good news. Now that you’ve heard this (maybe for the umpteenth time), what’s stopping you?
Soul winning is scary : This is wrong since God has not given you the spirit of fear but of power, of love, and a sound mind; 2Timothy 1:7. All three are necessary to win souls for God and this verse proves we already have access to most of the major tools for this task (our number one source of help being the Holy Spirit).
I worry about what others will say :You should not concern yourself with what others say or think but with what God says or thinks. Do not fear those who can only destroy the body, but rather fear Him who can destroy both body and soul; Matthew 10:28.
These people have already heard about Jesus, many are just stubborn or not convinced. Never stop sharing your testimony as that could encourage someone. Your story could be what inspires that person who has heard the gospel a million other times. Remember the Holy Spirit does the conviction. Ours is simply to ensure the gospel is heard and re-heard (yes, first-time’s not always the charm) by everyone. Pray for the stubborn/hardened regularly since you never know who you might encounter when you set out to preach – could be a person with a heart of stone or a person with an already-cultivated mind.
I worry about what to say: Pray before you speak. You are just a reporter, the Holy Spirit is the one with the script. Trust Him to help you string the necessary words together. Also, remember attitude matters, not just words. So adjust yours with God’s help so you can reflect Christ before you even speak.
As we wrap this up, please keep these scriptures at heart- “For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.” Romans 1:16 NLT
“And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.” Mark 16:15 NLT
God bless you as you set about to obey this instruction.
