Hello Everyone,

I am so delighted to be back here. I hope every one of you has been well. Praise be the Lord! I pray the Lord will send you a Word through this week’s #MeditationMonday in Jesus name, Amen.

Today’s anchor scripture is taken from Jeremiah 11:1. “This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord.” The phrase “and the Word of the Lord came” is not exclusive to Jeremiah alone, it is a common thing in the bible, especially in the old testament, for the Word of the Lord to come to a servant of God. But what does this really mean?

I have seen and read this phrase in the bible so many times that it has lost its meaning to me until recently. I wondered what it means for God to send his Word. What does that look like? What do you have to do to receive a Word from God or how do you get God to speak to you? What were these people doing before the Word came? These were some of the questions I pondered.

Spending ample time with God is the short answer to my questions. The Bible says you will find God if you seek him with all your heart and soul (Jer 29:13 & Deut 4:29). So, some of the prophets in the Bible that had this privilege consecrated themselves to him. God’s word is not exclusive to Prophets and Ministers of God. God speaks to any and everybody who is set apart for him. God sends his Word to anyone who creates time to meet with him and learn from his Holy Word. God communicates his plans and desires to those whose hearts are ready and prepared to receive from him. In truth, the Word of God does not just come, you and I have to take the first step to seek it and show a genuine thirst for it.

Pause and take a moment to spend some time with your Father.

God bless,

Dasola
