Hello Amazing One,

It’s another wonderful start of a new week. It’s also the last week in April. I pray all of God’s blessings intended for this month come to fruition in your life before the month ends, in Jesus name.

….

Our book club community met over the weekend, and we started reviewing a new resource – Joyce Meyer’s book, Battlefield of the Mind.

While this isn’t a review post, I would like to share one of the scriptures from the book.

2 Corinthians 10: 3-6 states,

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.”

Verse 5 of this scripture (in bold) instructs us on how to handle negative thoughts that attempt to take over our minds. We’re to cast them down and bring them to the obedience of Christ.

Negative thoughts can be anything and everything that doesn’t conform to the will of God ( the same as the Word of God). Interestingly, you may have accepted these things as ‘normal’ over time. But, as long as it’s not contained in God’s Word, and you don’t want it, you can cast them down.

For instance, perhaps you’re already thinking this month may just end again without your expectations coming to pass. That’s not what God says. He says He will perfect all that concerns you (Ps 138:8) and grant you the desires of your heart (Ps 20:4).

How about we get practical with this? Can you think for a bit about any recent thoughts that have occupied your mind? Do they align with God’s word? Yes, No? If no, begin to cast them down in the name of Jesus.

Does it work? It sure does. However, you may have to do this as many times as possible. There’s no cap to it. Keep at it until the devil backs off.

Have a victorious week ahead.
