Hello 1nebody,
I hope the week has been good for everyone. Thank God for His mercy endures forever. He has brought us to the end of another month! For that alone, we say, thank you, Jesus. Hallelujah!
Before February, the month of love, officially closes out, I want to share this book with the community. We reviewed this book at our 1nebody book club a few weeks ago. I must say, it is a must-read for singles and those in serious relationships. However, I believe it is also relevant for married couples as well. It is never too late to work on your marriage. Although some of the things shared may seem irrelevant for married folks, but it is my honest opinion that with the help of God, commitment and intentionality, you can still make them happen even in marriage. It is never too late.
The book is a short read in the form of a daily manual. It is 42 pages long put into a 21-day journey. I will share the content of some of the days briefly. The days I am sharing are by in no way the most relevant. I just can’t cover everything because I want you to learn directly from the book itself. I hope this review encourages you to read the book yourself and be intentional about doing everything discussed in it.
Days 1-3 – The first 3 days made it clear that the foundation of a marriage starts with yourself. And the author gave the beautiful illustration using 1 Peter 2:5 that if the materials used in building a house are inferior, the house would automatically be inferior. We are living stones according to this scripture, and the author built on this to show why you need to be your best self in Christ to have a beautiful marriage built on Christ.
Days 8-11 – The author elaborated on the topic of vision here. She stressed the essence of seeing beyond your marriage because clarity of vision before marriage also gives you clarity on who to marry. The season of singleness should not be used as waiting passively, this is the season to get to work to identify your God-given purpose and start working on it before you are joined to someone else’s vision.
Days 19-20 – This is where the author introduced externals to the journey of preparing yourself for marriage. She touched on the importance of Godly mentors and the place of the Holy Spirit. We cannot overemphasise the place of the Holy Spirit in everything concerning our lives. However, the author also shared why it is important to attach ourselves to people with the Spirit of God who have extensive experience and revelation concerning marriage.
This is in no way exhaustive, please, read the book and I pray that you will be blessed by it. All you need is to dedicate a day or so to reading it.
God bless,
Dasola
