Welcome to another review edition. Our review today is Resurrender, a song by Hillsong Worship from its 2021 album, “These Same Skies.”

Resurrender reminds me of God’s instruction on holiness in 1 Pet 1:15-16:

But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Contrary to popular opinion, God still calls believers to a life of holiness. However, it’s not something we can achieve in our strength, we need the help of God to live up to this high calling. When we present ourselves to him, He’ll cleanse, consecrate, and help us to please Him. And that’s the preoccupation of this song. Here’s the chorus:

We are Your people
You are our God
We are Your temple
Make us holy like You are

Perhaps the cares of the world have made you forget your identity and calling, God is reminding you through this song that you are His, and He loves to make your heart His home.

If you’re walking right with God, this song is also beneficial to you as a call to be eternity-conscious. Our walk with God isn’t a sprint. It’s a marathon. We need all the help we can get from the Holy Spirit to continue well, and ultimately finish strong.

I encourage you to listen to Resurrender for a fresh baptism of the spirit of holiness- a perpetual state that God desires for us to be.
