Matthew 5:44-48<\/strong> states, “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n It is normal to reciprocate people\u2019s\ngoodness in a similar manner. But here Jesus introduces us to a higher\nlifestyle where even the wickedness of man towards us should trigger an act of\ngoodness from us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The good acts of people towards us\ndeserves our goodness, and the bad acts of people towards us requires our goodness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When we love our enemies, it is not a\nstamp on their character, but is a revelation of the character of God in us.\nThrough this we can tell who your Father is (verse 45).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Make a commitment today to show forth God\u2019s perfection by expressing love to all. Receive the grace to persist in doing good to all especially those who don\u2019t deserve it.
