In most parts of the world, February is regarded as the month of love because of the celebration of Valentine\u2019s Day. Shall we seize this opportunity to explore the subject of love for the believer?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As children of God, we have no doubt that God loves us. But,\ndo we love Him in return? How can we express this?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
John 14:23-24<\/strong> (KJV)\nstates, \u201cJesus answered and said unto\nhim, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and\nwe will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not\nkeepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father\u2019s\nwhich sent me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Read how the Message translation captures it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Because a loveless world,\u201d said Jesus, \u201cis a sightless world. If anyone loves me, he will carefully keep my word and my Father will love him\u2014we\u2019ll move right into the neighborhood! Not loving me means not keeping my words. The message you are hearing isn\u2019t mine. It\u2019s the message of the Father who sent me.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n From these verses, we see that obedience is the proof that\nwe love God. We cannot claim to love God, but disregard His words. His words to\nus are documented in the Bible. This means we cannot know what to obey if we\nare not first conversant with His words. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Another avenue through which God reveals instructions to us\nis through genuine teaching priests.
