Yesterday, May 1st was celebrated in most countries as\nInternational Labour day. In the light of this, we examined God\u2019s perspective\non work at church. Why do we work? We had some interesting comments \u2500 to\nmake a living, to pay bills, to take care of ourselves, and many more. Do you\nhave a different perspective or have your thoughts been captured?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based on the word of God, our work is an expression of our\nlives that should glorify God. \u201cCommon,\nare you trying to spiritualize this too? I am a trained doctor. My work is\nprimarily to save lives, how can that possibly glorify God? <\/em>Someone else is\nasking, \u201cI am a fashion designer, how can\nmy work glorify God? <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Every line of work impacts on people \u2500 whether colleagues, customers,\nclients, or a mix of these people. This impact could be positive or negative.\nWhen it\u2019s positive, especially when it\u2019s consistently so, people want to know\nyour secret. That, right there is an opportunity to let someone know about\nJesus. They also may not ask you, but the impact cannot be denied. Every job,\ncareer, occupation, vocation exists through Christ and for His purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Colossians 1:16-17<\/strong> states, \u201cFor in him was created the universe of things, both in the heavenly realm and on the earth, all that is seen and all that is unseen. Every seat of power, realm of government, principality, and authority\u2014it all exists through him and for his purpose<\/strong>!
