On our review slate today is the book, The Man God Uses <\/em>by Oswald J. Smith. It\u2019s our current read on the book club and every member of the community testifies to its timeliness. Although, it was written in the 19th<\/sup> century, it is so timely that one could almost think otherwise. Except that it is written in an older version of English, you\u2019d probably never guess that it was published over 100 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most often, at the beginning of the year, we set goals to be better persons in as many areas as possible. Spiritually, we even pray, God make me a (wo)man after your heart.<\/em> However, one thing we rarely do is to search our hearts to identify what we need to do on our end of the bargain. Our side of the deal entails opening ourselves up to the Holy Ghost and asking ourselves some hard questions, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do we truly love God? Is our walk with Him consistently growing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is there anything different about our lives that attracts others to God?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are we consumed with church dogmas and activities, but don\u2019t have a personal relationship with Christ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do we live by God\u2019s standards, or have we adopted the world\u2019s standards?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
