old hymn<\/a> that I heard for the first time this past Easter. It has been one of my go-to songs for my worship time ever since. The hymn, titled Jesus Paid It All, was written in 1865 by Elvina Hall and John Grape and has been noted as a favourite of many American Christians since then. The hymn is about the redeeming power of Jesus through His sacrifice and death on the cross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n1 Corinthians 7:23 NIV<\/strong> says \u201cYou were bought at a price; do not become slaves of human beings.<\/em><\/strong>\u201d Living a life that goes beyond personal and worldly achievements and validations is glorifying God and honouring Jesus for the gift of salvation. This song is a reminder that we don\u2019t own our lives, it belongs to God (1 Corinthians 6:19-20<\/strong>). So, we must strive to do everything to the glory of God. Nothing we do should be solely for our benefit but for the benefit of the Kingdom of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\nA little while ago, I was at a church program and one of the preachers said our greatest fear shouldn\u2019t be failing but succeeding at what doesn\u2019t matter to God<\/strong><\/em>. I have heard that before but it was a reminder, just like this song, that if not for God’s saving grace, we would be lost in sin. So, we must remember to share our faith and that same redeeming power with others so that they also can be liberated. We owe God our lives, time, energy, resources, finances, and everything in between because He paid it all for us on the cross so that we may live a more fulfilled life.<\/p>\n\n\n\nGod bless,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
