Can you believe it\u2019s less than 80 days until the New Year? I know! I was also surprised when I realized.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The end of year in many parts of the world is usually filled with several end-of-year events. In the Christian setting, you\u2019d find lots of thanksgiving events usually coined with different names, depending on the denomination. For example, some churches have harvest thanksgiving, year-end thanksgiving sessions, and so on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the corporate space too, you\u2019d find organizations having year-end events\/ galas in celebration of the goals they\u2019ve achieved in the year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some countries also have days dedicated to thanksgiving. Canada, and the United States are examples. But, did you know it is possible to be part of all these thanksgiving avenues, and yet not miss out on the blessings? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you are a child of God, you need to be sure you are not just going with the flow of the season, but you are genuinely giving thanks to God- the One who deserves the praise.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At church yesterday, the pastor mentioned how some people \u2018throw\u2019 their gratitude and thanksgiving into the air. You\u2019ll hear them say things like, \u201cI\u2019m thankful for family,\u201d \u201cI\u2019m thankful for good health…\u201d How about we pause, think, and channel our thanksgiving to the One from whom all blessings flow- God. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imagine that you did someone a favour, and instead of them telling you thank you directly, they thanked someone else. Or, attributed it to themselves, \u201c I got this because no one else deserves it anyway.\u201d What would your reaction be? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the year gradually comes to a close, and you find yourself participating in the flurry of thanksgiving events, please be sure that you are giving thanks to God. Yes, mention it to Him, let Him know you acknowledge Him as the giver of all the blessings in your life. Moreover, gratitude to God signs you up for more blessings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
