This new week, may you enjoy God\u2019s favour in greater dimensions than you have ever experienced, in Jesus name.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking about favour, the prayer for favour is one of the most common among believers. We desire God\u2019s favour to distinguish us and make us preferred above others. We pray for favour in our jobs, businesses, to get good grades, scholarships, and promotions. We also entreat God\u2019s favour to get married, to be fruitful, and in many other ways. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I personally believe in the favour of God, and I pray these prayers as well. I have handled and experienced blessings that I would not have, but for the favour of God. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, there is an aspect to this that we do not pay much attention to as believers. From the story of Joseph in Genesis 39<\/strong>, we see how Joseph enjoyed God\u2019s favour before Potiphar and in the prison. But, from as early as verse 2 of that chapter, it states that, \u201cThe\u00a0Lord\u00a0was with Joseph<\/strong>…\u201d It\u2019s also in verses 21 and 23.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n The presence of God with Joseph led to the favour he enjoyed with men. Joseph was conscious of God\u2019s presence with Him, and he cherished it. That is why even when no one was in the house when Potiphar\u2019s wife tried to get him to lie with her, his response was \u201c… How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?\u201d Gen 39:9.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Although he went to the prison because of the allegation from Potiphar\u2019s wife, God\u2019s presence went with him. Verse 21 states, <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBut the\u00a0Lord\u00a0was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He\u00a0gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\nGenesis 39:21<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Praying for favour is great, but a greater blessing is carrying God\u2019s presence. \u201cAnd how can I carry God\u2019s presence?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019ll share two points. One is to\u00a0become a born again child of God. Second is to consistently live a life of holiness and righteousness; Ps 24: 3-10<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you are not born again, that is where to begin. Dear Jesus, I accept you today as my Lord and personal Saviour. I confess that I have sinned, please forgive me. I believe that you died and rose again for me. By your blood, cleanse me from every unrighteousness. Thank you for the new life you have given me, help me to serve you all the days of my life.
