\u201cWhat\u2019s the fruit of an apple tree?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
My pastor asked the congregation this question during his sermon a few weeks ago. A good number of people, myself inclusive, responded \u201can apple.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Was that your response too? It\u2019s almost a no-brainer, right? The fruit of an apple tree must be an apple. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But we were wrong. Haha. You\u2019re probably wondering, \u201chow is that?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe fruit of an apple tree is another apple tree, and not an apple<\/strong>.\u201d That was his response. If you think about it for a moment, you\u2019d realize how accurate his response was.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s true that an apple tree will bear apples, but the goal is for the seeds in the apple to produce more apple trees so that there will always be apples. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Likewise, as a believer, your fruit is another believer.<\/strong> We see this in John 15:1-8.<\/strong> Verse 8 states,\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\nJOHN 15:8 (KJV)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n God doesn\u2019t only want you to bear fruit, He wants much fruit from you. These could be your colleagues, neighbours, family, or friends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n He wants you to tell other people about His love so that they also can become members of His family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n They too have a responsibility to tell others, and those ones tell other people, so that we keep multiplying. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Someone\u2019s probably saying, \u201cThat\u2019s not my gift. I am not one to engage people in conversations. Evangelizing is for missionaries and pastors.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n Well, I\u2019ve got good news for you\ud83d\ude42 Evangelizing is an instruction for every believer.\u00a0Mark 16:15<\/strong>, \u201cAnd He said to them, \u201cGo into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n The summary of today\u2019s meditation is that your fruit as a disciple of Jesus is another disciple. <\/p>\n\n\n\n If you haven\u2019t accepted Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour, that is where to begin. You cannot bear fruit unless you are first a disciple. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Are you ready to become a disciple? Please say this prayer: <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
Dear Jesus, I accept you today as my Lord and personal Saviour. I confess that I have sinned, please forgive me. I believe that you died and rose again for me. By your blood, cleanse me from every unrighteousness. Thank you for the new life you have given me, help me to serve you all the days of my life. Ultimately, please help me make it to eternity with you, in Jesus name. Amen <\/pre>\n\n\n\n
