I couldn’t help but wonder, what kind of faith is this? Then I started asking myself: maybe I would have gotten more out of life or even out of my Christian walk if I had insisted on certain things instead of just moving on.

You know how we are sometimes. We pray for something, and when it doesn’t happen, we quickly assume, “Oh well, maybe it’s not for me,” and we drop it. But what if God actually expects us to insist? What if the answer comes according to the measure of our faith? Back to the scripture. A woman’s child was possessed by demons, and she came to Jesus knowing full well that He could help. But His first response in Matthew 15:24 stopped me in my tracks:

But He answered and said, I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Wow. Jesus had a jurisdiction. That was a lightbulb moment for me because I’d never really noticed it before. I always thought He was sent to all who were lost, but here He says, “the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” (That’s a whole other conversation for another day!)

But here’s what got me: instead of giving up, this woman basically said, “No way. I’m not leaving until I get what I came for.” Then she came and worshipped Jesus, crying out, “Lord, help me!”

Now, we know Jesus is full of compassion, the Bible repeatedly shows Him healing and helping out of compassion. So why was her case different? Maybe it’s because she wasn’t part of the “lost sheep” He referred to.

Then Jesus said something that would have discouraged most of us in verse 26:

It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.

Her response, though, made me shout. In fact, I didn’t even realize when I burst out speaking in tongues! She replied in verse 27:

Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.

Guess what? Her faith made her daughter whole. Jesus didn’t even lay hands on her or pray directly for her child. Instead, He said in verse 28:

O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.

And the Bible records that her daughter was healed that very instant.

If an “outsider” someone technically not in covenant could have this level of revelation, then how much more you, a child of God? You, who Christ died for and gave full access to the throne room of God?

This scripture shook me. It reminded me that sometimes faith isn’t just about believing quietly; it’s about holding on, insisting, and knowing exactly what belongs to you in Christ.

If you are not yet a child of God, today is a great day to become one. You don’t have to hope for crumbs when you can have a seat at the table with Jesus Christ. Please say this prayer if you would like to receive Jesus into your heart:

Dear Jesus, I accept you today as my Lord and personal Saviour. I confess that I have sinned; please forgive me. I believe that you died and rose again for me. By your blood, cleanse me from every unrighteousness. Thank you for the new life you have given me, help me to serve you all the days of my life. Ultimately, please help me make it to eternity with you, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Congratulations, heaven rejoices over you!

If you said this prayer and would like additional information/guidance, please send an email to 1nebodyblog@gmail.com.

I hope this posts encourages you to develop relentless faith for those things you’re believing God for.
