Dear Victorious One,
Welcome to your week of new beginnings. May you experience newness in every area of your life, including those areas that are currently parched and arid; God says new beginnings and He will certainly bring it to pass for you in Jesus name.

We began our Holy Spirit series in our last edition. We were reminded that the Holy Spirit in us can teach us all things. But, how can a believer receive the gift of the Holy Spirit?

It begins with a thirst; Isaiah 44:3 (NIV) states, “For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.” A genuine thirst is a major requirement to getting filled. In addition, anyone who desires to be filled with the Holy Spirit must genuinely express a thirst for it.

My spiritual father, Bishop David Oyedepo (the President of Living Faith Church worldwide) often narrates how he received the gift of the Holy Spirit. He said to Him: Holy Spirit, I have heard about you, if you as real as people say, reveal yourself to me (paraphrased). Within a few minutes he got filled and burst out speaking in tongues.

While some may receive the gift of the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands, this is only one of the various ways the Holy Spirit can come upon an individual. You don’t need to wait for a spiritual authority to lay hands upon you, you can by yourself express your desire to be filled; the testimony of Bishop Oyedepo is a case in point. The Holy Spirit is always willing to pour Himself out, but are you ready to receive Him?

Come quench this thirst by Cece Winans, is a great song to get you ready for the in filling of the Holy Spirit.

Have yourself a thoroughly blessed week. Don’t forget it’s a season of new beginnings; do well to expect new beginning order of blessings.

God’s blessings always,

Dammy
