In Benny Hinn’s book, “Good Morning Holy Spirit,” he narrates how he asked Dr DuPlessis how he could please God. In his response, Dr DuPlessis said, “Don’t try.” A response that got Benny more confused than he was before he asked the question. Probing further, Dr DuPlessis made him understand that he needed not try. Rather, all he needed to do was yield.

Very often, we find ourselves asking this same question. We want to please God, yet we find ourselves falling face down at every attempt. It’s time to quit trying. When we yield our will, bodies, intellect, and all God has given us to the Holy Spirit, He guides us and helps us fulfil the will of the Father.

Philippians 2:13 (New Living Translation), “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him”

The Passion Translation of the same scripture states, “God will continually revitalize you, implanting within you the passion to do what pleases him.”

As you step into the new week, don’t try; just yield!
