Happy new May. This month, you will experience the grace of God in strange dimensions in Jesus name. We trust you have taken some time to speak God’s blessings over the new month. Please be sure to do so if you haven’t.

Yesterday, May 1st was celebrated in most countries as International Labour day. In the light of this, we examined God’s perspective on work at church. Why do we work? We had some interesting comments ─ to make a living, to pay bills, to take care of ourselves, and many more. Do you have a different perspective or have your thoughts been captured?

Based on the word of God, our work is an expression of our lives that should glorify God. “Common, are you trying to spiritualize this too? I am a trained doctor. My work is primarily to save lives, how can that possibly glorify God? Someone else is asking, “I am a fashion designer, how can my work glorify God?

Every line of work impacts on people ─ whether colleagues, customers, clients, or a mix of these people. This impact could be positive or negative. When it’s positive, especially when it’s consistently so, people want to know your secret. That, right there is an opportunity to let someone know about Jesus. They also may not ask you, but the impact cannot be denied. Every job, career, occupation, vocation exists through Christ and for His purpose.

Colossians 1:16-17 states, “For in him was created the universe of things, both in the heavenly realm and on the earth, all that is seen and all that is unseen. Every seat of power, realm of government, principality, and authority—it all exists through him and for his purpose! He existed before anything was made, and now everything finds completion in him.”

Now that you know your work is a means to glorify God, would you adopt a different approach?
