The Christmas week is here! Merry Christmas amazing reader. I hope you and yours have a wonderful celebration.
What is Christmas all about though?
At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. God, the Father desired to have a relationship with man, and the way He chose to accomplish this was to send his Son, Jesus to the earth.
Jesus was born in a supernatural way through Mary, who conceived of the Holy Spirit; Matthew 1:22.
This Jesus lived among men for 33.5 years before He was crucified by the same people He came to save. After three days, he resurrected from the grave and returned to God in heaven; Matthew 28.
Because of Jesus’ blood that was shed at His crucifixion, we now have access to the throne of grace; Heb 10:19. We no longer need priests or high priests to mediate for us before God as was in the case in the Old Testament.
Do you now see that Christmas is beyond wining, dining, and exchange of gifts? These are not wrong in themselves, but it becomes wrong when it is perceived as the whole essence of Christmas.
Christmas should remind us of the price God paid for humanity when He gave up His only begotten Son, in the hope that we would someday accept the gift of salvation.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
JOHN 3:16 (NKJV)
Have you accepted the gift of salvation? God already made the provision for your escape, but you have to consciously make the decision to receive Him as your Lord and Saviour. And what better time to do this than now? Today is a great day to be saved. Please say this prayer:
Dear Jesus, I accept you today as my Lord and personal Saviour. I confess that I have sinned, please forgive me. By your blood, cleanse me from every unrighteousness. Thank you for the new life you have given me, help me to serve you all the days of my life. Ultimately, please help me make it to eternity with you, in Jesus name. Amen
Congratulations, you have received the best Christmas gift- the gift of salvation. If you said this prayer and would like additional information/ guidance, please send an email to 1nebodyblog@gmail.com.
Now that you better understand the importance of this season, do well to let others in on the gift of salvation which the birth of Jesus affords us. Don’t keep this to yourself.
*Please note that the rest of the week will be devoted to praying and planning for the New Year. Hence, there will be no posts on Thursday and Saturday. I encourage you to also devote some time to study, prayer and seeking the will of God for the New Year.
Once again, have yourself a very Merry Christmas!
God’s blessings always,
Dammy
