Hello Amazing Reader,
Trust you’re well. How’s October coming along for you?
Over the weekend, I listened to a message by the Lead Pastor of Conquerors Global Assembly, Bishop David Abioye on thanksgiving. He spoke about the importance of praising God for who He is, not according to the size of what you think He has done.
Does this resonate with you? When we consider something a major intervention, we go all out to thank God. If it seems little to us, we barely thank God for it, let alone testify about it.
Bishop Abioye shared the analogy of a person who is appreciating the president of their country for a kind gesture. Regardless of what the president did, the recipient will likely express their gratitude beyond what the president gave to them. Because they will be considering the office of the President when responding.
Conversely, if the favor was from a local government councillor or ward representative, the recipient will appreciate them based on their capacity or office. Possibly not doing as much as they did when thanking the president.
The same principle applies with God, we are to thank Him for who He is, not only for what He has done.
Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness! Psalm 150:2 (NKJV).
When we adopt this praise mindset, we will no longer be tempted to praise God according to size of the testimony. Whether we consider His intervention small, medium or large, we’re to respond in praise for His excellent greatness, not just for His acts.
Have you become a member of God’s family? Until you do, you cannot praise Him acceptably.
Please say this prayer with faith in your heart:
Dear Jesus, I accept you today as my Lord and personal Saviour. I confess that I have sinned; please forgive me. I believe that you died and rose again for me. By your blood, cleanse me from every unrighteousness. Thank you for the new life you have given me, help me to serve you all the days of my life. Ultimately, please help me make it to eternity with you, in Jesus name. Amen.
Congratulations, you are now a member of God’s big family! If you said this prayer and would like additional information/guidance, please send an email to 1nebodyblog@gmail.com.
Have a praiseful week & rest of October.
God’s blessings always,
Dammy
