“Peel it” or “Thank You”?

Hello Amazing Reader,

Happy new week and happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian friends.

I recently heard the story of a little boy who was given an orange by an elderly man. The little boy’s mum tried to nudge him to do the polite thing, and she says, “what do you say?” This little boy points the orange back to the man and says, “peel it” 😀.

As hilarious as this story sounds, it may be the case with us. God has done so much for us, intervened in our situations, healed us, provided for us, comforted us, and much more. But instead of returning with gratitude, we are saying to God, “peel the orange.” Maybe not literally, but through our actions. For example, He gives us healthy bodies, and instead of saying “thank you,” we’re asking God for the other things that appear pending.

Can we become more intentional about thanksgiving? Not just “Father, I thank You for everything.” But, Father, I thank you for this intervention, this provision, your deliverance in X year, for this answered prayer…

In Luke 17:15-19 (NKJV), we see the story of the ten lepers that Jesus healed.

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. 17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.

They all experienced the same miracle, but only one returned to Jesus to say thank you. And as a result, he experienced the perfection of his miracle.

I believe God to help me make thanksgiving a lifestyle. I hope this is your desire too.

If you’re yet to become a member of God’s family, please say this prayer:

Dear Jesus, I accept you today as my Lord and personal Saviour. I confess that I have sinned; please forgive me. I believe that you died and rose again for me. By your blood, cleanse me from every unrighteousness. Thank you for the new life you have given me, help me to serve you all the days of my life. Ultimately, please help me make it to eternity with you, in Jesus name. Amen.

Congratulations, you are now a member of God’s big family! If you said this prayer and would like additional information/guidance, please send an email to 1nebodyblog@gmail.com

Have a praiseful week!

God’s blessings always,

Dammy
