The Fatherhood of God

"A child of God has the best Father."

Hello Amazing Reader,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend, celebrating the fathers and father figures in your life.

Over the weekend, I saw the above quote in front of a church in my neighborhood, and it has had me meditating on the goodness of our Father God. He is such a wonderful, caring, and intentional dad. Let’s examine some scriptures that speak to His fatherhood.

  1. He knows the number of hairs on your head: He’s so mindful of you that in spite of the billions of people on the earth, He knows the number of hairs on your head. Not an estimated figure, but the exact number!

Luke 12:7 (NLT), “And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.”

2. He formed you and sent you to the earth for a purpose: Long before you were born, He already knew you. You’re not an accident, but an intentional masterpiece. Your life is designed to give glory to God.

Jeremiah 1:5 (AMP), “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you [and approved of you as My chosen instrument], And before you were born I consecrated you [to Myself as My own]; I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

3. He’s always with you: He’s able to help you, carry you, and sustain you. He’ll never abandon you to the will of your enemies, never! That’s not consistent with His character.

Isaiah 46:4 (AMP), “Even to your old age I am He, And even to your advanced old age I will carry you! I have made you, and I will carry you; Be assured I will carry you and I will save you.”

4. He’s unlimited: There are no limits in God. Your needs cannot scare Him. He has above and beyond all that you’ll ever need. Not just to meet your current needs, but for a lifetime and more.

Psalm 145:16 (AMP), “You open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every living thing.”

There are many more scriptures that speak to His Fatherhood, but let’s pause and ponder on these for a start.

From these, you’d agree that even the best earthly fathers cannot match up to God’s fatherhood. They can definitely learn from Him, and aim to reflect His fatherhood to their kids, but everyone needs to experience the love of the Father. He’s the best Father anyone can have.

If you haven’t made Jesus the Lord and Saviour of your life, God is not yet your Father. He desires to be, but you have to invite Him before He can be your Father.

Why not receive Him into your life by praying this prayer:

Dear Jesus, I accept you today as my Lord and personal Saviour. I confess that I have sinned; please forgive me. I believe that you died and rose again for me. By your blood, cleanse me from every unrighteousness. Thank you for the new life you have given me, help me to serve you all the days of my life. Ultimately, please help me make it to eternity with you, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Congratulations, you’re now a child of God! If you’d like additional information, please send us an email, and we’d be delighted to support you.

Never forget that you have the best Father in God. Act like your Dad’s got you!

Have a blessed week,

Dammy
