Hello, 1nebody,
Happy new week! God has already gone ahead of you this week. You will experience clarity and ease this week in Jesus name, Amen!
You will all agree with me that it is one thing to do your part – what is required of you and a different thing entirely to do it when it matters, right? Our anchor scripture today is a bit long but please, read the entire thing.
1 Chronicles 28:11-19:
“Then David gave his son Solomon the plans for the portico of the temple, its buildings, its storerooms, its upper parts, its inner rooms and the place of atonement. He gave him the plans of all that the Spirit had put in his mind for the courts of the temple of the Lord and all the surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of the temple of God and for the treasuries for the dedicated things. He gave him instructions for the divisions of the priests and Levites, and for all the work of serving in the temple of the Lord, as well as for all the articles to be used in its service. He designated the weight of gold for all the gold articles to be used in various kinds of service, and the weight of silver for all the silver articles to be used in various kinds of service: the weight of gold for the gold lampstands and their lamps, with the weight for each lampstand and its lamps; and the weight of silver for each silver lampstand and its lamps, according to the use of each lampstand; the weight of gold for each table for consecrated bread; the weight of silver for the silver tables; the weight of pure gold for the forks, sprinkling bowls and pitchers; the weight of gold for each gold dish; the weight of silver for each silver dish; and the weight of the refined gold for the altar of incense. He also gave him the plan for the chariot, that is, the cherubim of gold that spread their wings and overshadow the ark of the covenant of the Lord. “All this,” David said, “I have in writing as a result of the Lord’s hand on me, and he enabled me to understand all the details of the plan.””
Today’s charge is a very simple one, don’t neglect your part no matter how insignificant you may think it is, it is important to the advancement of God’s work. If you are conversant with the bible, you know that Solomon built the Lord’s temple. Even if you are not familiar with the account of David and Solomon, you will notice from these verses that one person brought the plan for another to execute. But what if David had not done his part in making preparations? It’d mean he was disrupting God’s plans and timeline.
Another perspective is, what if he did make preparations but it was too late? It’d still mean he was disrupting God’s plans and timeline. It is not just about carrying out God’s instructions, it is about doing it and doing it in time – when it matters to God.
Two people that come to mind from the Bible are Jonah and Elijah. Jonah did what God instructed him to do but not after he wasted a lot of time. We were never told but what if some Ninevites missed their chance at salvation because of Jonah’s lateness? For Elijah, every time I read that chapter, I think to myself, what would have happened to the widow and her son if Elijah had wasted a second in carrying out God’s instructions? We have all been given an assignment and God’s expectation of us is to do our parts without complaining or wasting time.
Perhaps, you are reading this and haven’t made God the authority over your life, to direct and lead you in all your affairs. That could be your act of defiance and delay. Please, surrender your life to him today and do not waste any more time. If you are ready to do your part, I invite you to say the prayer below.
Dear Jesus, I accept you today as my Lord and personal saviour. I confess that I have sinned, please forgive me. By your blood, cleanse me from every unrighteousness. Thank you for the new life you have given me, help me to serve you all the days of my life. Ultimately, please help me make it to eternity with you, in Jesus name.
Congratulations, heaven rejoices over you! If you said this prayer and would like additional information/guidance, please send an email to 1nebodyblog@gmail.com.
God bless,
Dasola
