Hello Amazing Reader,
Welcome to a new week. You’ll rejoice and be glad throughout the week, in Jesus name.
“What’s the fruit of an apple tree?”
My pastor asked the congregation this question during his sermon a few weeks ago. A good number of people, myself inclusive, responded “an apple.”
Was that your response too? It’s almost a no-brainer, right? The fruit of an apple tree must be an apple.
But we were wrong. Haha. You’re probably wondering, “how is that?”
“The fruit of an apple tree is another apple tree, and not an apple.” That was his response. If you think about it for a moment, you’d realize how accurate his response was.
It’s true that an apple tree will bear apples, but the goal is for the seeds in the apple to produce more apple trees so that there will always be apples.
Likewise, as a believer, your fruit is another believer. We see this in John 15:1-8. Verse 8 states,
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.”
JOHN 15:8 (KJV)
God doesn’t only want you to bear fruit, He wants much fruit from you. These could be your colleagues, neighbours, family, or friends.
He wants you to tell other people about His love so that they also can become members of His family.
They too have a responsibility to tell others, and those ones tell other people, so that we keep multiplying.
Someone’s probably saying, “That’s not my gift. I am not one to engage people in conversations. Evangelizing is for missionaries and pastors.”
Well, I’ve got good news for you🙂 Evangelizing is an instruction for every believer. Mark 16:15, “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
The summary of today’s meditation is that your fruit as a disciple of Jesus is another disciple.
If you haven’t accepted Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour, that is where to begin. You cannot bear fruit unless you are first a disciple.
Are you ready to become a disciple? Please say this prayer:
Dear Jesus, I accept you today as my Lord and personal Saviour. I confess that I have sinned, please forgive me. I believe that you died and rose again for me. By your blood, cleanse me from every unrighteousness. Thank you for the new life you have given me, help me to serve you all the days of my life. Ultimately, please help me make it to eternity with you, in Jesus name. Amen

As you go on in this new week, why not ask God to help you bear at least one fruit. You can certainly do more too.
In our next post, we’ll explore some practical ways of telling others about Jesus.
Have yourself a fruitful week.
God’s blessings always,
Dammy
