Pray for the Church

Hello Amazing Reader,

Welcome to another beautiful week. May you experience the daily loads of benefits which God has deposited into each day of this week, in the name of Jesus.

In the 1nebody book club, our prayer focus for this month is #PrayForTheChurch.

The Church is representative of:

  • Your local assembly
  • The people who make up the church
  • Pastors, ministers, and the leadership of the church
  • The peace and unity of the church
  • The Church universal, and so on.

There is so much we can pray for the church about, yet the enemy tries to make believers focus on non-essentials. He’ll rather have us speak against our church leaders, than pray for them. He’ll have us backbite against our brothers and sisters than show them love and live in peace.

He does all these because Christ has deposited so much power in the church. The enemy knowing he is a defeated foe however seeks to neutralize that power by introducing disunity in our midst.

Before Jesus’ arrest and crucifixion, He prayed for Himself, His disciples and all believers. For the believers, He asks God to make us one, just as He (Jesus) and the Father are one.

John 17:20-23 (NKJV), I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

Beginning from today, can I challenge you to continually pray for the Church? There is so much to pray for about the Church, and I encourage you to begin praying today. Let the Holy Spirit lead you on where to focus, whether it’s for your brothers and sisters, the church leadership, or all of these and more.

If you haven’t become a member of God’s family, what are you waiting for? Today is a great day to pray this prayer:

Dear Jesus, I accept you today as my Lord and personal Saviour. I confess that I have sinned; please forgive me. I believe that you died and rose again for me. By your blood, cleanse me from every unrighteousness. Thank you for the new life you have given me, help me to serve you all the days of my life. Ultimately, please help me make it to eternity with you, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Thank you for praying!

God blessings always,

Dammy
