Hello Amazing One,
Welcome to a beautiful new week. You will surely rejoice and be glad in this week, in Jesus name.
The Bible is laced with God’s promises for us as His children. However, the portion of the reality we walk in is entirely up to us. What have we seen from the word?
In 2 Kings 6, we see the example of Elisha – who understood his covenant of protection in God. The King of Syria had sent an army after him to arrest him. Elisha’s servants saw this vast army besiege their residence early in the morning. Frightened at the sight, he hurries off to tell his master, Elisha that they had been besieged.
Interestingly, the Bible has no record of Elisha praying to God for protection from his enemies at that point. This is because Elisha had come to a place of understanding his covenant of protection in God. He already understood that he had the heavenly host in his favour and they were a lot more in number than the King’s army.
The only request he made at this point was for God to open the eyes of his servant, so he could equally see. 2 Kings 6:17 states, “And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.”
What situation is making you fearful? Do you feel frightened by current happenings like Elisha’s servant? How about you ask God to open the eyes of your understanding, that you may see. The answers are right there in His word.
God’s blessings always,
Dammy
