Hello 1nebody,

I hope you had a fantastic weekend. Can you believe the first month in the second half of the year is only 2 days away from closing?! To God be the glory! We thank him for life. Above all else, we are alive today because He willed it and we are thankful for it.

I had a topic in mind for today since last week but when it came to fleshing it out yesterday/slash this morning, my spirit did not align with it anymore as much as it did last week. As I went through my notes and bible, meditating on what to write about today, Philippians 4:4 jumped out at me and I like how the CEV version puts it.

“Always be glad because of the Lord! I will say it again: be glad.”

Today, I charge you not to let your joy be tied to material things or achievements.  One of my pastors made a statement recently that challenged me – “When your worth is tied to physical things, it is fickle. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit; it has nothing to do with your circumstances.” That is exactly why I like this version of Philippians 4:4; be glad because of the Lord – not because you have a job, a roof over your head, food to eat and clothes to wear but because of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is reason enough for you to rejoice, the best part is that He loves you. Yes, you! His love has nothing to do with your circumstances or the wealth and assets you have. He has given you the gift of life, rejoice! The Creator of the heavens knows you by name, rejoice! The God who rules mightily over the affairs of the universe is with you, rejoice! He has given you the gift of knowing him and building a relationship with Him through the death and resurrection of His son, Jesus, rejoice.

Do not let the enemy steal your joy, let your joy rest in Christ.

God bless,

Dasola
