Hello 1nebody,

Happy end of the week, if there’s a thing like that lol. I hope everyone is doing great. Thank God for everything.

I was going to review a book today but this old hymn dropped in my heart yesterday and I have felt it strongly impressed in my heart ever since. From research, the hymn was said to have been written in the 19th century by Sarah Flower Adams and it retells the account of Jacob’s dream in Genesis 28:11-12, and for a better context, down to verse 17.

“When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep. He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.” NIV

For me, the song is a prayer that I would like to say to anyone reading this. No matter the season you are in or where you are on your walk with God, I pray that you will experience the presence of God like never before. May you feel Him closer to you day after day. Like Jacob, may you have an encounter with the Lord in ways you have never done before. With every waking moment, may it be your testimony that you are nearer to God, in Jesus name, Amen.

Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee

E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me

Still all my song shall be nearer, my God, to Thee

Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee

As Moses said in Exodus 33:15 NIV “Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.” More than anything else, we need the presence of God. We want to be nearer to Him every day, in all that we do. May we not take up opportunities or make decisions that will tear us away from His presence. In Jesus name, Amen!

God bless,

Dasola
