Hello 1nebody,

I hope you are having a wonderful day so far. I thank God for your life and for bringing you to this blog again today. I pray that you will be blessed by today’s review and encounter God in a powerful way in Jesus name, Amen.

The Power of Your Dreams is a book by Pastor Stephanie Ike Okafor of Potter’s House in California. I haven’t read the book but I will be reviewing a short video where she addressed topics from this book on the TBN Network YouTube Channel.

The video is in a Q&A format where a question is shown on screen and Pastor Stephanie answers them by referencing her book, The Power of Your Dreams. Pastor Stephanie started the video by describing her own experience with spiritual dreams and talked about a significant dream that defined her identity in Christ where she encountered God the Father. She described her dreams as the consistent place where she hears from God. I will point out some of the topics that stood out to me.

Are All Dreams Significant? How Do You Know if it Contains a Message from God?

My key takeaway here is that the fruit of your dream will reveal whether it is a dream planted by God, the devil or your mind. And how do you know the fruit? Pastor Stephanie gave a powerful illustration that if you went to a field with a bunch of orange trees, you wouldn’t know they are orange trees because you didn’t plant them unless you saw the oranges growing from the trees. In the same way, when you dream, the fruit of the message in your dream will reveal the one who planted the seed. She explained that when God gives you a message in your dream, she used an example of a spouse here, the fruit that comes out of it should be the feeling of peace, and being unbothered about the outcome. When God plants a seed in your dream, it will not grow into the fruit of obsession or making an idol out of the message. This rings true of any message or instruction from God, whether in a dream or not.

What are Nightmares? How can I Overcome the Fear that Nightmare Often Produce?

Sometimes God allow nightmares to warn you that your spiritual walls are down. The devil only needs a small crack in your spiritual wall to torment you. How do you leave windows open in your spiritual wall? Spiritual cracks manifest from the things you tolerate or something your parents or grandparents practised. When your spiritual walls are down, it gives the enemy permission to oppress you. Pastor Stephanie gave a practical way to combat nightmares. Identify the time you always have this nightmare make it your time of prayer. She also said a powerful prayer that we should all confess today – Prayer: whatever is connected to my bloodline that is oppressing me in my dreams, I exempt myself because I am under the Blood of Jesus.

Pastor Stephanie touched on dreams as seen in the bible and how important it is to God as a major mode of communication. She also talked about the different types of dreams; impartation or warning dreams and how different dreams bring different feelings and tones depending on the type and message they hold. Ultimately, she encourages us to take our dreams to the Holy Ghost to unpack them whether or not we think they are significant. I encourage you to watch this message and get the book.

God bless,

Dasola
