Hello Amazing Reader,
How’s your week coming along?
In our last meditation, we talked about being intentional about thanksgiving and praise to God. We also stated that this is not limited to material blessings alone. Has it ever occurred to you to appreciate God for His love towards you?
This is the theme of the song, Kaunar Ka. It is a Hausa phrase which means, Your love. In this context, God’s love.
The chorus says:
Kaunar Ka oh ya Yesu
(Your love, oh Jesus)
Babu mai kama da kai
(No one compares to you)
Mun baka girman Ka
(We give you the honour due You)
Muna godiya
(We are grateful)
In the latter parts of the song, Pst Chingtok mentions many other blessings to thank God for, including, His Spirit in you, His forgiveness, His grace, and love.
If you’ve been struggling with counting your blessings, I highly recommend that you listen to this song. It will spur you to thanksgiving and gratitude. Although it’s in Hausa language (from Northern Nigeria), the lyrics are subtitled in English, making it easy for you to follow along.
God bless Pst Chingtok, Pst Amoz and First Love for this spiritual melody.
God’s blessings always,
Dammy
