Hello Amazing Reader,

Happy New Month! We are marching forward in all areas this month and beyond in Jesus name. I pray the month yields for you God’s plans and promises.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:33“evil communication corrupts good manners,” and it also derails or destroys destinies. In the story of Jesus, it is often told as though only Mary fulfilled prophecy because she was the virgin the prophets prophesied would birth the soon-coming King, and not much is said of Joseph.

However, Joseph is as much a part of fulfilling this prophecy as Mary is. Beyond the fact that Joseph is the one from the line of David, which is mostly what we give Joseph credit for. Therefore, I want us to take a deeper look at Joseph’s character from Matthew 1 and how Mary’s relationship and association with him made her more ready and perfect for the fulfilment of the prophecy of the birth of Jesus.

1.     Joseph was a good person. In v.19, “Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.”

It takes a person like this to raise a child conceived by the Spirit. Perhaps if it were someone who was ill-mannered or hot-tempered, the whole city would have branded Mary “a harlot” before he realised what the Lord was doing with her.

2.    Joseph had a good relationship with God. God knew He could trust Joseph to listen, believe and obey His leading. Joseph had a track record with God, and that was why in verses 20-21 and 24-25, Joseph did as the angel of the Lord had instructed. God knew his heart. Can God trust you?

But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. Matthew 1: 20-21.

When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus. Matthew 1: 24-25

This is why the people we let into our lives are very important. I was just reading somewhere today that who we are is not only defined by the company we keep, but by the company we avoid. We are sons and daughters of God, and we have been put here on earth to fulfil prophecies. We must not let a nonchalant attitude towards relationships be the reason we miss it in life.

If you are reading this, and you haven’t made a decision to invite Jesus into your heart, I thank God He has brought you here today. Please, say the prayer of salvation below:

Dear Jesus, I accept you today as my Lord and personal Saviour. I confess that I have sinned; please forgive me. I believe that you died and rose again for me. By your blood, cleanse me from every unrighteousness. Thank you for the new life you have given me, help me to serve you all the days of my life. Ultimately, please help me make it to eternity with you, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Congratulations, heaven rejoices over you! If you said this prayer and would like additional information/guidance, please send an email to 1nebodyblog@gmail.com.

As you go on this week, I’d also encourage you to ask God help you define your relationships.

God bless,

Dasola
