Where is Your God?

Hello 1nebody Family,

Happy New Week! Your week is divinely ordered in Jesus name. You are blessed. I pronounce God’s very best over you and all that concerns you in this second half of 2026. Amen!

I’ve been reading the book of Isaiah for the past two weeks. When I was reading chapter 46, verses 6 to 7 stood out to me:

“Some pour out gold from their bags and weigh out silver on the scales; they hire a goldsmith to make it into a god, and they bow down and worship it. They lift it to their shoulders and carry it; they set it up in its place, and there it stands. From that spot it cannot move. Even though someone cries out to it, it cannot answer; it cannot save them from their troubles.”

This is God speaking to the Israelites through the Prophet Isaiah, reminding them that He is incomparable because their devotion had shifted to man-made things. God was challenging where they were directing their resources, time and commitment.

So, I ask you, where is your god? Where are you putting your resources?

This challenged me to take an honest look into myself and the things I prioritize. In the same vein, I’m challenging you today too because it’s not until you’ve made a wooden or golden object you are bowing to that your focus has shifted from God. It can be very subtle.

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, a god is also someone who is very important to you, who you admire very much, and who strongly influences you. And the Merriam-Webster dictionary says it is a person or thing of supreme value.

My translation is that this can look like the people you let influence your mood or decisions, the things you prioritize, or the things you allow. Basically, it can be anything or anyone that you hold dearer than God. I encourage you to be honest with yourself and ask God for the strength and courage to separate yourself from whatever or whoever is subtly taking His place in your life and destiny.

If you can’t relate to everything I’ve discussed so far, it’s probably because you’ve never had a relationship with Jesus or you did, but made mistakes, I invite you to say this prayer out loud if you have the desire to know the God of the Bible:

Dear Jesus, I accept you today as my Lord and personal Saviour. I confess that I have sinned; please forgive me. I believe that you died and rose again for me. By your blood, cleanse me from every unrighteousness. Thank you for the new life you have given me; help me to serve you all the days of my life. Ultimately, please help me make it to eternity with you, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Congratulations, heaven rejoices over you! If you said this prayer and would like additional information/guidance, please send an email to 1nebodyblog@gmail.com.

God bless,

Dasola
