JEHOVAH, THE MOVER OF HEARTS

Ezra 1:1 says, “In the first year of Cyrus King of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah, the LORD moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and also to put it in writing.”

For so long, the Israelites who were held captive in Babylon desired to rebuild the temple of the Lord in their hometown, Jerusalem but they lacked the opportunity and means to do so.

Meanwhile, Prophet Jeremiah had prophesied several years preceding that time;that the temple would be rebuilt but for so many years, it did not happen. Kings after kings ruled Babylon but God’s children remained in the land as slaves.

All of a sudden,a new King came on board; his name, King Cyrus. Within the first year of his reign, God orchestrated a movement in the King’s heart reminding him about the prophecy of Jeremiah. I imagine God saying to King Cyrus, “it is time for the prophecy which I spoke through Jeremiah to be fulfilled. Right now, permit all the exiles to return to Jerusalem.My temple must the rebuilt. Get moving right away!”

Unable to do anything else, King Cyrus hurriedly made a proclamation over his entire jurisdiction and he also put it in writing; thus providing evidence that the people could undertake the project without any hindrance.

In subsequent verses, we see how their neighbors found  them irresistible.They showered them with silver, gold, valuable assets and so many other gifts.This illustrates what happens when God moves the hearts of people in your favour.

Has God spoken a word in your direction this year, month, week? He will move the hearts of those who are connected to your breakthrough in order to fulfill His good word to you (note that, you may or may not know them personally). Not just that, they will find you so irresistible that they would go out of their convenience to favour you.

Jehovah, the mover of hearts will make it in happen for you. Amen!
