2 Thessalonians 3:16, ‘Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.’ (New International Version)
Wars, rumors of wars, religious unrest, natural disasters, accidents, divorce rates reaching an all-time high, depression, suicide stories everywhere, sicknesses, abandoned children, unemployment figures increasing exponentially…These are some of global issues facing the world today. The media is awash with such reports almost on a daily basis, yet you talk about the God of peace?
Some time ago, I heard my pastor say, ‘Peace is not the absence of trouble, it is being at rest in spite of trouble.’ That is not very normal is it? How could you be faced with challenges and still be at rest? Well, for as long as you attempt to achieve this in your own strength, it’s out rightly impossible.
The peace being referred to in the above scripture is only obtainable by God himself. Attempting to attain it elsewhere is mere fallacy. You see, He is peace personified and it is only in Him that you can find peace at all times and in every way.
When the storms rage and the battles get fierce, when there doesn’t seem to be a way out and all hope seems lost; be encouraged that the God of peace has already promised to give you peace at all times, that situation inclusive.
You can welcome the God of peace into your heart by acknowledging that you cannot do without Him. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and declare that He is now your Lord and Saviour.
iDeclare: It doesn’t matter how much you rage, I speak peace to you storm of …………(fill in the gap). The God of peace has promised me peace at all times and in every way. Therefore, I receive the peace of God even in this situation.Amen!
God’s blessings always,
Dammy
