Hello 1nebody family,

It is a new week and still in our month of thanksgiving in the 1nebody community, we thank God for His never-ending mercy and faithfulness for we are alive to see another day. All glory and adoration unto His name, Amen!

So, today, we have a word in season from the amazing Victoria Bajeh. Let’s get into it.

We are a speaking people! Proverbs 10:11a (NIV) literally says:

“The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life.”

So today, what are you saying, what are you declaring over yourself and your family? In today’s world, there are a lot of words that are said over us, from the media to friends, to family; look all around you, someone is saying something. In some cases, when some of these words are said, we do not have the option of accepting or rejecting them openly. Especially, when it comes from people with authority over us, like bosses or even Pastors.

This is why it is important to be able to speak over ourselves. Growing up, one of my father’s favourite verses which became like a family mantra was Psalms 112:1-2 KJV:

“Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.”

A simple verse but with intent and depth becomes a missile on your lips; a messenger on an assignment. I was a very sick child, and anytime I was ill, my father would say to God, you said my seed shall be mighty upon the earth, they cannot be mighty with sickness. I erase the hand of the devil over my child, she is mighty upon the earth! Do you see what the word of God on your lips can do, simple word, but revitalising.

The word of God brings out life. Hebrews 4:12 says it, the word of God goes inside everything you are, piercing soul and spirit, to deliver results. The word of God has the Spirit of God, it goes forth and quickens up your body, and that is why sickness yields to the declaration of the word of God. See Romans 8:11 KJV:

“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

Pastor Poju said recently, that when he is speaking to a Christian who is ill, he asks what bible verse they are holding on to for their healing. If the Christian declares Isaiah 53:4-5, he knows that Christian has not received revelation from the word of God for themselves but using what has been passed on. I pondered on this and agree, a “normal” word (verse) becomes fire for your specific circumstance when you prayerfully use it. The word may not even apply to healing, it lights up your bones like in Hebrews 4:12 and causes raw power to be made available.

Again, I ask, what do you say to and about yourself daily, do you have a go-to verse? If you are a parent, do you have a family scripture? What are you saying over you? The best way to speak the word is to meditate/ponder or think it over till you understand it. I find that sometimes we talk about these things and it’s not clear or practical for people who have not done it before, so I will share a few verses and how I apply it to help anyone struggling with this to confess the word of God.

These verses may mean different things to different people, but this is how I use them. I love to declare Psalm 5:12 over myself and my family (it’s my husband’s favourite verse and has become our family scripture):

“For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.”

Simple verse, but I pray this all the time and in multiple situations including healing. If the flu is going around, I will say –

Lord, I am surrounded by favour, the favour of God shields me from common ailments, it cannot survive in God’s favour. I am whole”.

The greatest part of this is that what you keep speaking, you keep seeing. It aligns your expectations with your words – Romans 8:28 – it works together. So, I don’t go out without expecting favour.

Another family scripture is Psalm 1:1-3 – I will say something like this –

I bring forth my fruit in my season, nothing in my hands is permitted to die, every single thing I do prospers, not some, EVERYTHING! I end by saying, go and prosper.”

Simple yet effective. That is the power of meditation, what I declare after saying these verses changes per time. You will find with practice you can pray just a verse alone as a morning prayer. Why? You will find that as you keep speaking, you keep getting insight and deeper interpretation of that word of God. The first step; Speak!

The world is saying so many things, make sure that your own words spur something deeper. Let your words ignite faith in you, if no one has said it to you, let me say it – your words, not another person’s words over you. YOUR WORDS ARE A FOUNTAIN OF LIFE; SPEAK!!!

God bless,

Victoria
