Hello everyone,

I hope your month is off to a great start. I pray that the Lord’s goodness and mercy will go before us and His favour will be our reward throughout the month in Jesus name, Amen!

We used this song as a prayer in my church 2 Sundays ago. After the Pastor was done with his sermon, he started singing this song, New Wine written by Brooke Ligertwood, and had the entire church declare the words of the chorus with affirmation. The song has been in my heart since then. If you also followed the Hallelujah Challenge’s 7 days of Perfected Praise, you will know that the Word from the special edition is ‘Water to Wine.’

The song was released in 2018 as part of Hillsong Worship’s album titled ‘There is More.’ The song is a prayer, a call to worship and commune with our loving Father. The scriptural references for the song are:

Matthew 9:14-17 NIV

“Then John’s disciples came and asked him, “How is it that we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast?” Jesus answered, “How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast. “No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.””

2 Timothy 2:21 NIV

“Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.”

Isaiah 64:8 NIV

“Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.”

So, I want you to pause just for a moment and pray the chorus of this song with me;

Make me Your vessel
Make me an offering
Make me whatever You want me to be
I came here with nothing
But all You have given me
Jesus bring new wine out of me
Amen!

PS – If you missed the 7 days of Perfected Praise, I encourage you to rewatch it on YouTube.

God bless,

Dasola
