Hello Amazing Reader,

It’s a beautiful new day and working week. I pray you and I rejoice and are glad in it, in Jesus name.

Do you know the fruit of the Spirit? By that I mean can you recite it top of your head? I think one of the many benefits I enjoy with being a Sunday school teacher is the regular reminders about scriptures like this. By teaching the kids fun ways of having the Word in their hearts, I also get the Word in mine.

Back to our conversation 😁 In the past few weeks, the children have been learning about the fruit of the Spirit from Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT):

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

The key takeaway for the children has been that it is the Holy Spirit who gives this fruit. I was supposed to be teaching the kids, but I also got reminded that I cannot produce the fruit of the spirit in my strength, wisdom or expertise.

It is the Holy Spirit who can help you and I to manifest:

  • Love
  • Joy
  • Peace
  • Patience
  • Kindness
  • Goodness
  • Faithfulness
  • Gentleness
  • Self-control

There’s already enough going on in the world to make you full of the opposite:

  • Hatred
  • Lament
  • Despair
  • Impatience
  • Meanness
  • Wickedness
  • Unfaithfulness
  • Harshness
  • Indiscipline

But, with the help of the Holy Spirit, you can manifest His fruit. Note that the Bible doesn’t refer to it in the plural, but singular. It is fruit, not fruits. I heard a preacher say it’s because they are all offshoots of one Holy Spirit and I couldn’t agree more. That is, the Holy Spirit in you can help you produce all the nine because they are first His attributes and He can help us to be likewise.

If you find yourself short in any of the nine fruit, the Holy Spirit is available to help you. You only need to ask Him. Mind you, this may mean challenges coming your way to test you in any, some or all of these areas. Not to worry though, the same Holy Spirit in you will help you overcome.

A lot has been said about the Holy Spirit in this post. Do you have a personal relationship with Him? If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and saviour, the Holy Spirit is available to you, but you need to invite Him into your affairs.

If you are yet to make a firm decision for Jesus, today is your day of salvation. Please say this prayer:

Lord, Jesus, I accept you today as my Lord and personal saviour. Forgive me of my sins, wash me in your blood. I know that I am a sinner. But I come asking for your mercies and grace. I confess that you are now my Lord and I will follow you until the end of time. Amen.

Congratulations! You are now born again.

Have a fruitful week,

Dammy
