In the words of Bishop David Oyedepo, ” there is no old time truth.” Meaning every instruction of the scriptures is still as valid today as it was when the Bible was written thousands of years ago.
As such, Hebrews 13:4 which says, “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge…” is still an instruction for the today’s believer. 1nebody had a chat with an unashamed Jesus lover and purposeful youth who talks about his choice to stand for God in spite of societal expectations. Excerpts below:
1nebody: Could you give a brief introduction of yourself?
D4J: My name is Dozie Ezemma. I am a 27 year old man that loves Jesus. I played in the NFL. I am a model, minister, and I am currently a Chemist working in a Lab. Oh yea, I am also a virgin.
1nebody: (Laughs) What a wonderful introduction and one of a kind too.
D4J: Well, I am proud of my identity.
1nebody: Awesome. You’re also known as ‘Dozie4J’, how did the name come about?
D4J: The name came about when I was making my instagram name. I knew I had to honor God in some way with my name. Dozie is my name and ‘4 J’ is short for, “for Jesus.”
1nebody: Amazing. At what point in your life did you decide to take a stand for Christ?
D4J: I took this decision when I was 18 years old, that was when I got saved. Anything before that time was strictly Jesus bothering me, until I paid attention.
1nebody: What got you to pay attention. Was it personal decision, parental influence?
D4J: You see, for me, I did a lot of partying in high school. I had friends from all backgrounds, gangs to advanced classes. However, my main group of friends were headed places but loved to party. Even though we partied a lot, I was limited to what I could do with women period. This had nothing to do with parents and all to do with Jesus. I could not physically bring myself to dance with women a certain way or go to a girls place one on one. At the time I rationalized it as just wrong and not making sense in my head. I did not understand that it was Jesus, but even if I tried I could not physically go through the actions. I have come to realize it was all Jesus.
1nebody: You are a model, minister, chemist, relationship counsellor. How do you juggle all these?
D4J: I always keep moving. Somethings are seasonal and I make sure to pay attention to which is more important to Christ at the time, without letting go of the other blessings. The relationship counselor was birthed from obedience to Christ. I made a pact with Jesus to do my best to post on Wednesday for ministry. The ministry took a turn toward relationships on its own. I actually tried to avoid that direction, but God had the last answer.
1nebody: Heard you describe yourself in a video as being single, saved and secure. Beautiful combination but how can one be all three?
D4J: In order to be all three: Single, Saved, and Secure you must learn who you are in Christ. You can be single on your own but secure and saved comes from knowing your purpose in Christ. Once you have a direction in Christ and are working toward your purpose it builds a security in Christ (Mathew 6:33) and fuels your salvation. Working toward your purpose defeats insecurity, sin, and single life. Your gifts will make a way for you, so working toward your purpose will bring your spouse.
1nebody: Wow!! That was such a profound response. No wonder you’re a relationship counsellor. So how did it really begin?
D4J: (Laughs) Well, I actually did not want anything to do with relationship things. The Lord led me in that direction. It all started from learning from other peoples mistakes, complete wisdom from the Lord, and some of my personal experiences. I learned a lot from other peoples experiences and stories.
1nebody: Great, that way you don’t have to make the same mistakes.
D4J: That’s right.
1nebody: According to 1 Corinthians 12, the body of Christ is one but has many parts. What part of His body would you relate your ministry as a relationship counsellor?
D4J: I would say, the arm. Due to the fact that the arm has muscles and also can give and take away. My ministry resembles the true strength of men and the wisdom to make decisions to progress or walk away.
1nebody: Awesome analogy. Sounded more like the NFL player side of you right there (laughs). Thank you so much for having a chat with 1nebody. You are sure touching lives with your relationship videos too. God bless you and continually grant you the requisite wisdom to function in all you do.
D4J: Amen to that, thanks for having me.
