Some days ago, my friends and I drove past a very popular street in Lagos, Nigeria. For as far back as I can remember, this street has been synonymous with commercial sex workers. Not demeaning them, being judgmental or anything of the sort; we were just surprised that the stories we had heard all the while were really factual.  As we drove past, one of us mentioned that we still have a lot of work to do regarding soul winning.

From 1 Timothy 2:4 , we understand that God’s will is for all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. God does not desire for any one to perish and His gift of salvation is not targeted at a particular colour, race or gender; rather, it is available to all who desire to receive it.

The moment you become born again, you become enlisted in the army of Christ and your core mandate is in Mark 16:15, which says, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” This is your primary assignment as a believer irrespective of your church or denomination. Every other mode of kingdom service you engage in, is secondary.

Bishop David Oyedepo usually says, as long as there are people around us whose souls must be saved, our soul winning endeavours must continue. You could get engaged by praying for  the souls of every unsaved person around you or reaching out to them by sharing the gospel.

Don’t forget that it is your duty as well as mine to propagate the gospel. The beautiful part is that you don’t have to be a Pastor, Bishop or Priest to do this.  Begin with that colleague, class mate, employer, employee or anyone around you. Put on your widest smile ever and say to the person, “Jesus loves you.” Be intentional about letting someone know about the love of Christ today!

I pray the gracious hand of God rests upon you this week and beyond.

God’s blessings always,
Dammy
