“When preparation meets opportunity, a testimony is birth.”
Though a tweaked version of the original quote, I heard someone say this some years ago and I could not agree less.

How prepared are you for the blessings you’ve been praying about?  (Think about it for a moment and answer honestly). Simply put, if God delivers your answer right now, do you have enough room to receive it? Hence, the place of preparation; spiritual and physical. While there is the place of spiritual preparation (in prayers, fasting, etc) many of us disregard requisite physical preparation.  This is why many claim to be waiting on God, meanwhile God is really waiting on them like we learnt in our last review session.

For example, you are trusting God for promotion at your work place and you know that one of your organisation’s promotion requirements is getting a particular certification. It would be unwise to keep bombarding heaven with your prayers when you are not taking any physical steps, which in this case is getting certified.

Isaiah 54:2-3 says, “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left…”( New International Version) This hilarious instruction was given to a barren woman (in verse 1). If it were told to a couple that already had a child or were about to have a child, it would be understandable, right? Yet the barren woman is being asked to make enough room for the receipt of her blessings.

God is saying the same to you today. You’ve prayed enough. It’s time to make room for the receipt of your blessings. Go learn to drive, take that exam, renew necessary documents, prepare your nursery, start getting your wedding items, get work cloths…enough of holding back. Let God know you are ready!

Have your most fruitful week yet.

God’s blessings always,
Dammy
