Hello Amazing One,

Trust your week has been fantastic? We thank God for yet another review edition. On our slate today is a message on approaching God as your Father by Kenneth E. Hagin. We recently listened to this message on the book club, and we have today’s review from one of our community members. Please come along.

In this 50-minute video, Kenneth Hagin educates us on how to approach God in prayer. Taking a bearing from John 16:23-24, John 15:7-8 and Hebrews 4:15-16, he emphatically states that an effective prayer life must be based on God’s word. That is, whatever request we present before God should have a scriptural backing.

Rev Hagin further states that 8 of 10 times when people ask him to pray with them on a particular issue, he requests for scripture(s) they have to support their prayers. However, most of the time he gets a negative response. Little wonder, they have no answer to their prayers. Not only do scriptures form a foundational aspect of our prayer lives, they also build our faith.

If we know the word of God, we will know what to ask for because God’s word is His will. If there is no scripture that addresses your need, you have no business asking God for it.

Whenever we approach the Father, we must meet the conditions stipulated in John 15:7-8, i.e. we must abide in Him and He in us and whatever we want will be done.

In summary, to the unbeliever, God is God; but to the believer, He is your Father and you should  approach Him with that consciousness. Speak with Him as often as you can, knowing He is also eagerly waiting to hear from you.

I would recommend that anyone who wants to experience an effective prayer life listens and applies the lessons from this message. It’s the first of a four-part teaching and I am positive that it would bless you tremendously.
