Dear Reader,

From all of us at 1nebody, we would like to thank you for showing up every week, reading and interacting with our blog. May the Almighty God bless you, Amen.

As we near the end of 2022, could you take the time to ask yourself and answer truthfully, what is your priority? During the Christmas Eve service that I was privileged to attend, the Pastor gave an illustration using the recently concluded FIFA World Cup, explaining how it was a huge deal for so many people worldwide but was not on his radar because it meant nothing to him. Likewise, ask yourself if God and everything that concerns him are HUGE DEALS to you.

This time of the year is the time of retrospection and planning, it is the time that you need to seek God’s face to set your priorities straight for 2023. The Pastor gave a very good practical exercise to get you back on track to what matters when life overwhelms you. He said when his priority starts to get fuzzy, he would ask himself, “if I didn’t have what I currently have, what would I give to get it back?” To provide more context, if you didn’t have breath, wouldn’t you give everything to breathe again? Or if you lose your loved ones, wouldn’t you give everything to get them back?

There is a popular hymn that goes “count your blessings and name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.” Knowing what God has already blessed you with will help shift your priority to the right things, it will help you refocus on God because if you have God’s priority, you have peace. Pray that God will help you set your priorities right in the new year. That you will make your priority the things of God because, with him, you have everything.

God bless,

Dasola
