Hello Amazing Reader,
It’s always a delight to have you here. Thank you so much for the gift of your time, God bless you!
Come with me as I review You Are Good by David Nkennor (feat Emeka Madubata)
This song for me depicts Psalm 150:2, which instructs us to praise God for his mighty acts and according to his excellent greatness.
It uses simple words to glorify God in a deep and personal way, which is one of the reasons I love it so much.
You can tell that the song was birth from a place of intimacy and experience with God. It reminds us that although God is one, we can experience Him in as many ways as we desire. For the songwriter, he has experienced God as good, kind, love, light, King, Lord, the Mighty man of war, his joy, and hope; as a result he is devoted to praising God forever.
Check out the first stanza:
You are Good,You are Kind I have never seen Your kind I'm devoted to Your praise And forever to Your name
So simple, yet so deep and personal, right?
This song has been on repeat for me for several days and I doubt I’ll ever get enough of it. I encourage you to take a listen yourself. If you care a lot about your poise, maybe don’t listen to it in public as you are sure to get lost in worship as you listen.
God bless Minister David and his team for this great song. Greater grace for greater exploits, in Jesus name.
Special thanks to Pastor Nathaniel Bassey who introduced me and many others to this minstrel during the last Hallelujah Challenge.
God’s blessings always,
Dammy
