Hello,

I hope you have had a good start to your week. I pray it will be a fruitful week for us all, in Jesus name, Amen.

This message is a combination of various sermons and devotionals that I have been exposed to in the past months. There are three things I would love to call your attention to today. One is, at every moment in a year, we experience one of the 4 seasons, Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn, as ordained by God (Gen 8:22). Similarly, we all go through different seasons at every point in our lives. So, if he ordained it, he is prepared for it (Acts 1:7), just trust him.

The second thing is, God speaks to us at every given time of our lives, no matter the season we are in (Isaiah 30:21, Jer 33:3). However, hearing him depends on what you place your attention on. He might not yet be speaking to you about what you feel is the most pressing, but he sure is speaking to you on something he wants you to focus on at that time. Because he has appointed a time and season for everything to take place (Ecc 3:1). Do you feel as though you can’t hear him on a particular thing you are praying for, why not be open to hearing whatever message he has for you? (Heb 2:1, Psa 85:8)

The highlight of my message is the third thing. Exo 14:15 (NIV) reads;

“Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.”

Why do you think God said that to Moses? Because that was not the time for crying, there is a time for everything the bible says. But why exactly was crying not the right response at that time? It is only normal to be emotional in that kind of scenario right?.

Another quick example with a different response in a similar situation is found in Esther 5:1 (NIV);

“On the third day, Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the palace, in front of the king’s hall. The king was sitting on his royal throne in the hall, facing the entrance.”

Have you ever imagined a different scene here? What if Esther ran into the King’s hall crying, as dramatic as she could be, and dressed like a crazy person. Do you think the outcome would have been the same? However, Esther stood there, poised and confident, with faith in the Almighty as she made her requests known. I mean, again, wailing wouldn’t have been out of place given the seriousness of the matter, would it?

I will like us to take 2 important lessons away from these verses;

  1. Living through your feelings/emotions would only waste your time and distract you from receiving what God truly intends for you. Feelings change, sometimes they render you helpless, hold you down, and hinder you from making sound decisions. But you are far from all of that, are you not? God wants to see you up on your feet! His word says “though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you will fear no evil” because he will do his wonders whilst you move. His miracles are in your feet! God does not need you to whine, nag, cry, or complain, he wants to see you act! Do not wallow in your tears or self-pity, move in faith!
  2. Have faith in God. Move on in faith. Let your faith in God be your strength, trust him completely (Isaiah 30:15). The main difference between Esther’s reaction to that of the Israelites was her undying faith in the everlasting father.

God bless,

Dasola
