Jehovah Shalom, the Lord is peace!

The Psalmist refers to him as “…the very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1, KJV) What could be more reassuring? Knowing that you have a source of peace right in the midst of storm.  ‘Peace is not the absence of trouble, it is being at rest in the midst of the trouble’. I heard this from one of my Pastors and it has since stuck with me.

Our text is taken from Genesis 41:1-16. Pharaoh the king of Egypt had very disturbing dreams which he did not what they meant. In the first dream, seven good looking cows got consumed by seven ill and ugly ones. In the second dream, seven thin heads of grain got swallowed up by seven healthy heads.  He called for all his wise men and magicians, but none of them had an idea what the dreams meant.

Then, the chief cup bearer remembered Joseph , the young lad whom he had met in the prison that interpreted his own dream as well as the chief baker. ‘Get him here quickly’ said Pharaoh.

And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it” and i have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it. And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, it is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace” (Gen 41:15-16, KJV)

Did you see that? Joseph was quick to point out to Pharaoh that God is the source of peace and He is the only one to reveal the meaning of his dreams. This explains why the magicians and wise men did not have an answer for Pharaoh. They were not connected to the God of peace.

Enough of seeking help where there is none. Jehovah Shalom, the God of peace is available to still that storm once you call on him. He can provide you with an answer of peace to bail you out of that difficult situation. Peace by Lionel Peterson, is a strongly recommended listen for you. The song writer says, ‘When trouble blows, Jehovah sees, Jehovah knows, He is my peace!

Today, I decree in the name of Jesus that God will give you an answer of peace.
Good morning. Enjoy your most peaceful week yet.

God’s blessings always,
Dammy
