New week, new blessings. Welcome to the start of another wonderful week. It will harbor no negativity for you and yours in Jesus name.

Our text for today’s meditation is John 5:1-9 which narrates the story of a certain sick man who had been in that situation for 38 years. Not 38 days, weeks or months but 38 long years. This particular pool side where he was is not the typical relaxation spot that comes to mind. This one was quite a pool side because it had the blind, halt, withered…Verse 4 tells us that an angel comes in to stir the pool at a certain time and whoever stepped in first among all the sick that were there received his/her healing from whatever ailment it was.

This certain man also knew this ‘open secret’; yet, people always got there before him all the time. I’ll like to imagine that there were several people who met him there and left him there. He might have even conducted orientation classes for the new comers where he must have shared the open secret with them. Also, the Bible records that Jesus knew he had been there for a long time. He probably must have seen him severally while walking by or even healing others.

I guess Jesus was perplexed at this certain man. He had to ask him,” wilt thou be made whole?” Certain man responded saying, ” Sir, I, have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while i am coming, another steppeth down before me.”

What a shocker! He had been in that situation because he was waiting for someone else all the while. Imagine what would have happened if he had been taking steps towards the pool. He most cerainly would not have waited for that long.

Many of us are like this certain man, waiting and wasting. Why not start with a step today. Let God see your act of faith and meet you there. That new job, building project, business venture, marriage, fruitfulness, healing…(whichever is your situation) starts with a step. Psalty’s  ‘One step at a time’ sums up today’s message. I know it’s not Review Thursday (lol) but I recommend you listen to it. I’m climbing my mountain step by step …I’m climbing my mountain day by day… I’m going to make it one step at a time with Jesus by side… (singing).

God’s blessings always,
Dammy
