Today’s session showcases the first worship experience of its kind. There has been nothing like it anywhere in the world.

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” John 4:23

God our father desires to be worshipped by everything he created; man, animals, plants, mountains, hills, water bodies, etc. Even stones can praise him. Which is why we are admonished in scriptures not to let stones take our place in praising God.

 In the light of this, the youth ministry of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) worldwide recently held her annual marathon praise session in celebration of God’s faithfulness over the life of her General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye (popularly referred to as Daddy G.O).

In celebrating Daddy G.O’s 76th birthday, this year’s edition held for 76 hours from Monday 26th February-Thursday 1st March, 2018 (3 days, 4 hours) at  the youth center in the redemption camp . For the first time since the Marathon Praise started in 2012, the stage in Nigeria hosted 76 hours of non-stop praise and worship. This ran alongside stages in 15 other countries which shared the 76 hours among themselves.

The Nigerian stage played host to music ministers from around the world such as Nathaniel Bassey,  Busola Martins, Bola Are, Efe Nathan (and her daughter), Bukola Bekes, Taiwo Ibidapo, Big Bolaji, Mairo Ese and a host of others. It also featured the Marathon Praise Mass Choir. The variety and style which each minister brought to stage made the experience absolutely phenomenal.

I had been hearing about marathon praise but for the first time, I got to understand its purpose. As I participated online, watching in bits and pieces, oh my, I felt heaven literally come down to earth.I was (and still am) in awe.

The aim of the marathon praise is to raise an army of worshippers in this generation and with what I experienced; the devil is in trouble.
