The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines restoration as, “bringing back to a former position or condition.”

At some point in your life (maybe even right now) you may have lost one thing or the other; an opportunity, savings/ investments, a relationship, job, admission, car, pregnancy, marriage, etc; the loss of which must have been very disheartening. While people can be instrumental in the restoration of finances or material possessions, no one but God can restore lost time.

He is the author and the writer of time. He created time and so cannot be limited by it. Your timepiece and calendars are too minute when God’s timing is involved. Remember he makes all things beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11) thereby making your wasted years look like nothing.  When God shows up, He comes so big that you literally forget you had to wait so long for that blessing.

Joel 2:25-27 (the message) clearly illustrates what God’s restoration package looks like after a very awful season of loss. It says, “I’ll make up for the years of the locust, the great locust devastation—Locusts savage, locusts deadly, fierce locusts, locusts of doom, That great locust invasion I sent your way. You’ll eat your fill of good food. You’ll be full of praises to your God. The God who has set you back on your heels in wonder. Never again will my people be despised. You’ll know without question that I’m in the thick of life with Israel,That I’m your God, yes, your Godthe one and only real God. Never again will my people be despised.”

So, if you have lost anything; be encouraged by the fact that you serve a Masterful Restorer, the best there is at the art and act of restoration. Waiting for His time might not be rosy but don’t despair,  encourage yourself with the testimonies God gave you in the past as well as those He has given to people around you.

I pray you all-round restoration this week and beyond.

God’s blessings always,
Dammy
