Two of my favorite aspects of having a relationship with God are the peace and joy I have regardless of what’s going on. Jesus gives a peace that passes human understanding…the kind of peace that doesn’t make sense. Who wouldn’t want that 🙂 ?

Peace when social injustice is unbearable, peace when the bank account is looking destitute (God is just holding my money for safekeeping, He’ll release the funds when I need them), peace during a pandemic that threatens to rip sanity from us all.

Now, having peace and joy during a trial does not equal acceptance. I am not lounging amid the fire. NO! I am choosing to wield my extinguisher with a clear mind instead. I am allowing my brain and muscles to work collectively to put out the fire. As opposed to running around frantically and achieving nothing as said fire blazes and consumes everything around me.

It’s almost impossible to function at peak levels of anxiety; it’s scientifically proven that we get more done when we approach tasks with a clear head (you may look up effects of anxiety on performance).

So, I hope you embrace a relationship with God today because it’s the only way you can find this peace and joy. That’s just the truth! You cannot find it anywhere else. The following scriptures will better help your understanding:

I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.John‬ ‭14:27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.2Thessalonians‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” Isaiah‬ ‭26:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” 1 Peter‬ ‭5:7‬ ‭NLT

God bless you,
