Hello Amazing Reader,
Welcome to a new week that the Lord has made, you’ll rejoice and be glad in it, in Jesus name.
The Holy Spirit is asking us a soul searching question today- what’s the basis for your excitement?

Luke 10 narrates how Jesus appointed the 70 and sent them out in twos. Their assignment was to heal the sick and proclaim that the kingdom of God is near. (Verse 9).
After a successful and impactful assignment, they returned with testimonies in verse 17, “And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.”

This was a wonderful testimony, right? Even today, we rejoice in the supernatural. We are excited about testimonies of healings and deliverances, which are always great to witness. How much more when you are the channel through which these blessings are received? This can make you really excited. But guess what? This report from the 70 was no news to Jesus. He already expected this outcome from them.

In verse 20, Jesus tells them to switch the cause of their thanksgiving from the supernatural that had happened through them to eternity with Christ.

"Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven."

Jesus says the cause for rejoicing should be because their names are written in heaven. By extension, this should be the cause for our rejoicing as well.

Experiencing the supernatural is wonderful, being a channel is awesome. But above all, spending eternity with Christ calls for unending celebration. Are you sure you’ll be with Christ for eternity? If not, today is a great day to ask Jesus into your heart as your Lord and saviour.

Please say this prayer, “Lord Jesus, I come to you today. I ask that you forgive me of all my sins, and wash me with your blood. I believe that you died and rose again for my redemption. I declare that you are my Lord, and I am yours forever. Keep me blameless until you return, and help me to make it with you to heaven, in Jesus name.”

God’s blessings always,

Dammy
